Learning in the Great Outdoors!

In September 2015 we introduced the Forest School Learning Plans to our school, so every child will have the opportunity to experience an engaging and exciting curriculum outside in all weathers.

Forest Schools is an inspirational experience which uses the environment as a tool to develop

children’s emotional, personal and social skills.

It is an innovative educational approach of playing and learning in a safe woodland environment through hands-on learning experiences.

Forest Schools

Kate MacRae, also known as 'WildlifeKate', is an experienced primary school teacher and Education Consultant. Kate regularly features on BBC Springwatch and has also appeared on Midlands Today, Countryfile and BBC Gardeners' World, sharing the wildlife that visits her Lichfield garden.

Kate regularly works with us at High Meadow, sharing the wonders of the natural world with our pupils. From pond dipping, setting up our camera nestbox to  creating imaginery clay creatures, Kate is always welcomed into the school with enthusiasm and excitement from the pupils and staff alike!
